Ford recognized Thunderbird buyers with a dash plaque that was engraved with the owner's name. These plaques were generally ordered by the selling dealer as a way to show appreciation for the sale. The owner himself could stick it on the dash or console area; many owners brought the plaque into the dealer and had the service department do it, probably at the first oil change.  Another recognition was a thank-you letter and parchment scroll that noted the customer's purchase of The World's Most Wanted Car.
