1958-1966 Thunderbird Convertibles are sorted by year and then by VIN. The VIN is sorted  by engine: 

1958 - first position - G (low compression 352 V-8) or H (352 V-8)

1959 - first position - G (low compression 352 V-8), H (352 V-8) or J (430 V-8)

1960 - fourth position - G (low compression 352 V-8),  H (352 V-8) or J (430 V-8)

1961 - Z (390 V-8)

1962 and 1963 - fourth position M (390 3/2V V8) or Z (390 4V V-8)

1964 and 1965 - Z (390 V-8)

1966 - Q (428 V-8) or Z (390 V-8)
