Many people agree that the 1966 Thunderbird Convertible is the most desirable of all 4-passenger models because it represents the last time an open Thunderbird would be offered for 35 years, until the 2002 Thunderbird was introduced. A total of 5,049 were built, at a price of $4,855.

The optional Safety Convenience Control Panel can be seen in the center of the instrument panel - look for the round lights directly in the middle.
